Kia Seltos vs Ford Escape

If you have made the decision it’s time to find that next ride, you may be researching a number of options near West Chester, Philadelphia, and Ardmore, PA. At Jim Sipala’s Kia of West Chester, we’re taking a closer look at two options on the market, as we compare the 2021 Kia Seltos vs. 2020 Ford Escape. Drivers in Springfield, PA; Exton, PA; and our friends from Wilmington, DE, can learn all about the Seltos and Escape by reading our comparison below.

Kia Seltos vs Ford Escape Technology

When talking about technology, you should be ready for just about anything. The 2021 Seltos features a standard 8-inch touchscreen display in the center stack area. With Bluetooth® Calling and Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone capability standard, you’re always prepared for that next adventure. Thanks to this functionality, it’s easy to make a hands-free phone call, navigate to your destination, or choose a song from a saved playlist. The entry-level Ford Escape does come with a 4.2-inch screen in the center stack, but it’s well off the pace of the Seltos’ offering. Plus, you won’t find standard smartphone functionality in the 2020 Escape, so you’re left in the dark when it comes to connecting in this way, unless you upgrade to a higher trim level.

Seltos vs Escape Safety Features

Safety matters when you’re out on the road. After all, you want to be protected whether you’re driving solo or in charge of that next family excursion. The Kia Seltos comes standard with safety items like front seat-belt pretensioners, full-length side curtain airbags, dual front advanced airbags, and dual front seat-mounted side airbags. The Ford Escape also works to protect drivers, with dual-stage front airbags, safety belt pretensioners, front-seat side airbags, and a driver’s knee airbag. The 2021 Kia Seltos offers a standard Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) feature as well. When exiting the Kia car, you will receive an audible and visual warning if there is an unattended passenger in the rear seating area. This ensures that no matter what, no one is ever left behind.

Seltos vs Escape Driving Experience

With the entry-level 2021 Kia Seltos LX trim, you will have access to standard all-wheel drive (AWD) capability. AWD Lock Mode is designed to enhance traction and control on the roads, and can also split power 50/50 to the front and rear wheels, just by pressing a button. This unique feature helps you gain control over when you want to use AWD. The Ford Escape does feature similar AWD technology, but it doesn’t come standard as it does in the Kia Seltos.
