Kia Soul Dashboard Light Guide

A sporty Kia Soul can be your ticket to that next adventure. However, what’s that light in the dashboard doing on? Hmm, that’s something that deserves a closer look. West Chester, Philadelphia, and Ardmore drivers should know what their Kia car is trying to tell them. That’s why we’ve created this Kia Soul dashboard light guide for Springfield, Exton, and Wilmington drivers. Your Kia Soul can indeed be fun to drive, but if a dashboard light has turned on, the Jim Sipala’s Kia of West Chester team is here to find a solution.

Kia Soul Dashboard Lights

Generally speaking, the red lights in the dashboard describe an issue that needs immediate attention, while the yellow lights describe a potential issue. White or green lights are typically indicator lights which let you know a certain feature is currently activated. Here are some of the lights you’ll come across as you’re driving.

Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light

When this red light turns on, it means your Kia Soul isn’t getting the pressure it needs to have the engine run properly. Pull the Kia car over as soon as possible in a safe place, and switch the engine off. Check the oil level and add oil as needed. If the light remains on, it’s time to contact our service center.

Charging System Warning Light

This light will illuminate when the ignition is turned to the on position and remains on until the engine is started. If you see this light while driving, then there may be a malfunction of the battery or generator.

ABS Warning Light

When you see the ABS light turn on while driving, it means there is a malfunction with the ABS system. Normal braking will still work, but you won’t have the ABS system activated. Bring your Kia car to a Kia dealer as soon as you can.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System Malfunction Indicator

This added safety feature illuminates when tire pressure in at least one of the tires is determined to be low. An underinflated tire can lead to tire overheating, which may mean a flat tire or tire damage. It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on tire pressure when the seasons change, so if you see this light on when summer turns to fall, just know that the first cold night can have an effect. Always check all four tires. If the light remains on, we’ll inspect your tires and look for any puncture or damage.

Low Beam Indicator

When the light switch is in the headlight position, the low beam indicator light will be on. This green light lets you know the headlights, tail position, and instrument panel lights are activated.
