The symptoms of this problem mimic what you’d find if there’s a fluid leak, so if you experience slippage and slow shifting and you can’t find any leaks, get your solenoid checked.
Clutch
Inside the torque converter rests your clutch, which can become jammed. A jammed clutch means the solenoid has a problem making its calculations regarding transmission fluid. You can typically tell if you have clutch problems because you’ll hear violent shaking sounds and experience considerably less power in your engine. You’ll also experience the same symptoms as you would with low fluid, slow shifting, and slippage.
