Did you know that 80% of the pumpkin supply in the United States is available in October? We can venture a guess that this is because of the timeless jack o’lantern tradition people like to celebrate this time of the year. If you’re as passionate about pumpkins as we are, do we have a treat for you! Read below for details on how you can get your pumpkin fix at The Glow Philadelphia.
What Is It?
The Glow, in short, is a tri-city jack o’lantern experience concocted to fuse the feel of fall and the spirit of Halloween. The walking trail, which spans about one-third of a mile, is overloaded with more than 5,000 professionally carved jack o’lanterns. You’ll see everything from giant, attention-grabbing pumpkin structures to single, hand-carved pumpkins that are reminiscent of what you did on the kitchen floor as a kid.
When Is It?
The Glow takes place on every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday between October 6th and October 29th of 2017. Since The Glow Experience is a trail rather than a free-format festival, you also need to pick a time that you plan to visit in addition to the date.
On the website under “Tickets”, you’ll find a list of times under each date. Simply pick the 45-minute time frame you’d like to attend, and continue with the purchasing process. Please note that tickets must be purchased in advance and no tickets will be sold at the door.
Where Is It?
When the day finally gets here, you’ll want to make sure you’re heading to the Philadelphia GlowExperience. You certainly don’t want to drive all the way to Washington D.C. or Nashville, TN, on accident. The Philadelphia Glow can be found at 5201 Parkside Avenue Philadelphia, PA. More in-depth directions can be found on their website!
What Should I Bring?
To ensure that every jack o’lantern enthusiast has the most fun possible, The Glow asks that anyone attending brings their ticket, a camera, and weather appropriate clothing as it is a rain-or-shine event. Fall beverages and concessions will also be available for purchase, so bring a hungry tummy as well!
