The new Kia EV9 is available in five grades and can power anything from morning commutes to adventures across the country. The base configuration uses a 76.1 kWh battery and a rear-wheel motor for an output of 215 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. This electric powertrain delivers spirited acceleration with a 0-60 time of 7.7 seconds, as well as smooth handling in all road conditions.

For more punch, you should opt for the long-range battery pack mated to the dual-motor all-wheel drive setup, a system that churns out 379 horsepower and between 443 and 516 lb-ft of torque, depending on the trim. With these specs, you can expect nearly instant acceleration with a 0-60 time of 5.0 to 5.7 seconds. Available power boosters can push this SUV even faster for a sprint to 60 mph in only 4.7 seconds.

Range and Charging

Going fast isn’t the EV9’s only highlight. This full-size SUV can also go far, providing a standard range of 230 miles and a fuel economy rating of 88 MPGe combined. With the long-range battery pack, you can go as far as 280 miles away from home with an all-wheel drive trim or up to 304 miles in the Light Long Range RWD model.

This configuration also delivers enhanced fuel economy, with EPA estimates of 100 MPGe in the city and 77 MPGe on highways. Both batteries boast fast-charging capability, going from 10 to 80 percent in under 25 minutes. You can also replenish the battery at home, plugging the EV directly into a 120V or 240V household outlet or with the available Level 2 wall charger that charges both batteries from 10 to 100 percent in under nine hours.

Smart Tech Features 

Each EV9 trim level comes with a pair of 12.3-inch screens, one behind the steering wheel and a center touchscreen. The digital gauge is reconfigurable, making it easy to view the driving information that is most important to you. The infotainment touchscreen offers intuitive access to vehicle functions, smartphone integration, and the Kia Connect connected services.

You can pair the vehicle with the Kia Connect mobile app to enable remote vehicle control, check your vehicle’s health status, and more. All trim levels also support Kia’s Digital Key 2.0, allowing you to lock and unlock the doors and start the vehicle with your phone.
