2020 Kia Sportage vs Ford Escape

How do West Chester, Philadelphia, and Ardmore, Pennsylvania, drivers decide between two dynamic machines like the 2020 Kia Sportage and the Ford Escape? It’s easy—you read the following review created by Jim Sipala’s Kia of West Chester. We know what shoppers in Springfield, Pennsylvania; Exton, Pennsylvania; and Wilmington, Delaware, are looking for, and you can find it in the comparison below. Happy shopping!

Kia Sportage vs Ford Escape: Exterior

Light can surround you in many ways with your Kia Sportage and keep you protected from harm. When mist may be forming on the road, the available fog lights guide the way. The Smart Welcome—found in the Kia SUV—keeps the door pocket lights illuminated until you safely enter your car. This feature is not found in the Escape, however. Stay cooler in your Kia Sportage, as well, with standard-issue privacy glass for the rear windshield. It cuts down on the amount of sun filtering into your ride. Privacy glass is not standard in every Escape trim, unfortunately. If you want natural light filtering down on you, the Kia vehicle offers a large panoramic sunroof. A similar one is available in some trims of the Ford.

Kia Sportage vs Ford Escape: Interior

While both the Kia SUV and the Ford offer a 10-way power-adjustable front driver’s seat, the Kia model comes with 2-way lumbar support and is available among all trims. Add an 8-way power-adjustable front passenger’s seat too. In the Escape, a comparable power-adjustable front driver’s seat comes standard in all except one trim, but it does not feature lumbar support. Both the Kia Sportage and the Ford Escape give you the option of heated front seats, but what about ventilated seats during the dog days of summer? They are available in the Kia vehicle, but not in the Ford.

Kia Sportage vs Ford Escape: Technology

Many similarities exist when it comes to safety systems that watch out for you or keep you connected in both sets of wheels. When you feel drowsy during a late-night drive, the Driver Attention Warning (DAW) in your Kia Sportage will perk you up with audible and visual alerts. Unfortunately, no comparable device appears in the Escape. In every trim, you get the advantage of a bright, standard 8-inch touchscreen in your Kia SUV, which can display your streamed apps and directions from your smartphone using either Android Auto™ or Apple CarPlay®. You may need to opt for an upgrade with the Ford Escape, however. It only starts out with a 4.2-inch LCD screen, not an 8-inch one.

Kia Sportage vs Ford Escape: Performance

Back in and out of parking spaces with aplomb in your Kia Sportage with a shorter overall length of 176.4 inches and slightly smaller wheelbase of 105.1 inches. The Ford Escape stretches out to 180.5 inches in length, while sporting a larger 106.7-inch wheelbase. For your towing purposes, you can use the optional towing hitch in the Kia Sportage to bring along a fully loaded trailer.
