Keeping your Kia in good condition means staying on top of your recommended Kia service schedule. As a car owner, you can refer to your Kia owner’s manual at any time to see which routine maintenance services you should schedule at your Kia dealer.

Essential Maintenance Services for Your 2024 Kia Vehicle at Your Kia Dealer

In general, you can think of essential maintenance as preventative services that will protect you from major repair costs in the future. One simple essential maintenance you can conduct every 7,000 miles is a routine safety inspection, which assesses all the major systems in your vehicle. Other essential services include:

Oil Change

You should schedule an oil change for your vehicle every 7,500 miles or so. Your specific model, engine, and the type of oil your car uses can all influence how frequent your oil service should be. Most Kias that use synthetic oil can have an oil change twice a year. However, if you drive frequently in stop-and-go traffic or the weather is very hot, you may want to schedule an oil change sooner.

Tire Rotation

To ensure the tread on all four tires wears down evenly, you should schedule a tire rotation every six months or every 7,500 miles. During your tire rotation, a Kia mechanic will examine the tread wear on your tires, rotate your tires into different positions, balance your tires, and align your wheels to optimize your handling.

Filter Replacement

The air filter, cabin filter, and other filters in your car should be replaced at least once a year. If you have a new Kia, your filter replacement is generally recommended at the first 15,000 miles.

Brake Pad Replacement

The brake pads on your vehicle can last for a couple of years. For a new Kia, you may need to replace your brake pads after 22,500 miles. However, your driving habits may mean your brake pads last longer or need to be replaced sooner.

Tire Replacement

Most of the time, your tires can last for three to four years. It’s a good idea to consider replacing your tires after 30,000 miles since this is usually when your tire tread will be worn down. You may also choose to replace your tires with summer tires or winter tires as the season and your driving habits call for it.

Fluid Check and Replacement

Finally, you should have the fluids in your vehicle checked at least once a year. Brake fluid, transmission fluid, radiator coolant, and other fluids in your vehicle can easily be checked during your routine oil change.
